Building a greater community
***** Corona Virus Update *****
UPDATE: 20/3/2020. Unfortunately, as per the instructions received from Government this evening, the gym will be closed until further notice, as of the last class tonight.
We will continue to reply to emails and will be posting further updates here, by email and on Facebook
Please be assured that the club has always planned for such eventualities and we will reopen as soon as we are allowed to do so.
Deep cleaning via a professional service provider is already booked and will take place whilst we are closed.
All the very best
Bedwas Gymnastics Club provides a safe, effective and friendly environment in which our members can participate in pre-school, recreational and competitive gymnastics under the guidance of our qualified coaches. Our British Gymnastics Association GymMark accreditation provides a formal recognition of those achievements.
The club is over 40 years old and we have our very own purpose built facility. We are affiliated with the British Gymnastics and Welsh Gymnastics governing bodies.
We have a large team of qualified coaches and sports leaders that dedicate their time to the gymnastics club. All coaches are registered members of the British Gymnastics Association, are first aid trained and have a safeguarding children qualification. All staff hold a current DBS.
Our recreational gymnasts work towards British Gymnastics Proficiency Awards where the gymnasts can achieve certificates and badges to acknowledge their achievements.
Our competition classes work towards regional and national gradings each year and also achieve club certificates and badges for mastering specific skills.
A Community Interest Company (CIC), we are mainly run on a volunteer basis, charging only those fees necessary to run the club. We both thrive and depend upon the community and parental support that we gratefully receive. We have an amazing group of parents who volunteer their time to help with admin.
Our aim is to help as many gymnasts as possible to achieve their full potential in gymnastics and in life itself.
We shall continue to develop our facilities to meet the significant local demand, providing access to all children in our community.
We shall continually improve our classes in all disciplines, producing high-quality gymnasts.
Bedwas Gymnastics is run by dedicated coaches, sports leaders and committee members and the majority of these do so on a voluntary basis.
We have a high demand for more classes within the area, and we need your help to meet this demand. We are looking for potential volunteers to help out within the gymnastics club, whether you can offer an hour a week or nine hours a week, any help would be greatly appreciated. The experience and recognition gained will look great on your CV or UCAS application.
We are currently seeking experienced gymnastics coaches, young leaders and individuals with an interest in gymnastics. We appreciate any time that you can give, whether it is on a coaching basis or by helping out with committee duties. If you have an interest in volunteering please contact us.
It's not about a few people doing a lot, but a lot of people doing a little.
