Coaches and volunteers
Here at Bedwas Gymnastics Club, we encourage coaches and volunteers to follow their dreams and achieve qualifications to help them develop. We have a fantastic team of qualified coaches, qualified Sports Leaders and dedicated volunteers on board, helping us deliver our weekly classes.
All coaches are registered members of the British Gymnastics Association, are first aid trained and have a safeguarding children qualification. All staff hold a current DBS.
We have recently started a new leadership academy for volunteers aged 11-17 to help them develop as a coach and to provide them with the opportunity to organise sessions and events within the club.
BGC strongly supports individual development and provides an opportunity for personal growth whether you're a gymnast, a coach or a volunteer for our club.

Volunteering
Bedwas Gymnastics is run by dedicated coaches, sports leaders and committee members on and the majority of these are on a voluntary basis. We have a high demand for more classes within the area, and we need your help to meet this demand. We are looking for potential volunteers to help out within the gymnastics club, whether you can offer an hour a week or nine hours a week, any help would be greatly appreciated.
We are in partnership with Millennium Volunteers so that individuals between the ages of 14-25 can earn accreditation through volunteering for our club.
After your first 50, 100, and 200 hours of volunteering, you will be entitled to a certificate to recognise your work, which is backed up by the Department of Education. The experience and recognition gained will look great on your CV or UCAS application.
We are currently looking for experienced gymnastics coaches, young leaders and individuals with an interest in gymnastics. We appreciate any time given to the club, whether it is on a coaching basis or helping out with committee duties. If you have an interest in volunteering for Bedwas Gymnastics Club please contact us.

"Working as a coach at Bedwas Gymnastics Club has been a very memorable time for me and an experience I will never forget. Helping young gymnasts to develop their skills and abilities has been extremely rewarding. Coaching has enabled me to develop my communication skills and learn how to get the best out of others through my own discipline and dedication. Having the coaching experience and qualifications that I have achieved with the support of the club, without a doubt, enabled me to submit a very impressive mission statement and had a considerable influence on my successful application to my preferred university of choice - Loughborough.
I would encourage anyone to take advantage of the opportunity that Bedwas Gymnastics Club is offering and I feel it would almost definitely have a positive impact on their lives in the future".
Jessica Ogden - Level 1 coach.
